More snow scenes after a dusting overnight from the #morningwalk on the Greenway and around Davidson. It was 14° and sunny this morning with about 5 inches of snow on the ground in Davidson. (That's my estimate from several measurements. Others say up to a foot here.) That didn't stop some of our neighbors from jogging or walking to church. The snow required shoveling - can't remember the last time we had to do this. I had to come in - Shelley kept on going to Main Street - "Shoveling my walk to work," she said. "With These Hands" by @hankwillisthomas surrounded by ice at @davidsoncollege and other sights on my Wednesday #morningwalk Tuesday night sounded good at @flatirononmain this week with guitar Mike Orlando, mandolin @jonahhortonmusic and guitar @edan_aldridge jamming at Flatiron Kitchen Tuesday night. When your local has weekend headliner music on a weeknight. This is Dr. W.H. Wooten, the man who built my house and the victim of a scandalous crime a century ago. On Feb. 7, I'll be telling the story of the 1914 "Murder on South Street," a story I've been researching and writing about for years. It's the next @davidsonhistoricalsociety program. Rachel Workman @workmanchronicles of @ghostsofdavidson fame will join me to talk about this hometown true crime. Join us - it's free! Register at the society website. https://www.davidsohistoricalsociety.org/post/february-program-murder-on-south-street We got mostly snow and sleet over night here in downtown Davidson overnight. There's a thin layer of ice underneath. The forecast is for more worrisome icing later Sunday. Stay safe. I saw a few cars and one fellow walking soul - @alan22da - as I went out to inspect at 8:15am. #morningwalk Waxing quarter moon on a Friday night. Calm before the storm?
