Photos from around downtown, after snow fell overnight. The snow turned to freezing rain and sleet and officials say conditions could get worse. They’re advising folks to stay off the roads unless it’s an emergency. Schools and many government offices are closed. A few photos from my travels around Davidson Monday night, Labor Day 2015. A rainbow appeared around 7:20pm looking to the east, as we watched the Davidson College men’s soccer team score its first goal over NC State. The Wildcats went on to win, 2-1.
At the other end of the day from this morning’s sunrise photo shoot. After a great evening on the porch with some good French and Napa reds, we caught a glimpse of the moon over Davidson. Quite a sight!
The Lake Norman YMCA has been buzzing with activity again this summer, with 500 campers a week on the waterfront, swimming lessons in the pools, gymnastics and other classes in the gyms, and a steady stream of youth and adults coming to work out.
