Davidson police arrest suspect in attempted robberies

Davidson Police said Thursday they have arrested Gregory Stewart, a suspect in attempted robberies Oct. 26 at Wells Fargo and the Davidson Exxon station.

Police said Stewart turned himself in to the Mooresville Police Department on Friday, Oct. 30.  He’s currently in the Mecklenburg County Jail in Charlotte, withe bail set at $100,000. 

He is charged with two felony counts of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, according to the Mecklenburg Sheriff’s office. The arrest record says Stewart is a Davidson resident.

Stewart is suspected of attempted armed robberies of Wells Fargo Bank at 112 S. Main St., and the Exxon gas station,  at 601 Griffith Street in Davidson, both on Monday, October 26.
