Davidson Town Day is this Saturday, May 7, 2016, from 10am to 3pm on the Davidson Village Green.  The day includes booths and activities on the green – from a dunking booth to the traditional “cake walk” – as well as a half-marathon and 5K race, a firetruck on Main Street and a volunteer cleanup at Lake Davidson.

“This is our 46th annual Town Day, so we’re excited for citizens to come out and celebrate our wonderful town,” Health Living and Wellness Supervisor Leslie Willis said in a press release. “We hope everyone will enjoy the events we have planned.”

Town Day began as a day of service, and the town continues that tradition this year. Volunteers are invited to join a lakeside cleanup at Lake Davidson Nature Preserve. And Davidson Parks & Recreation is offering suicide prevention training.
