Hey followers: I left WFAE in January 2024. I’m calling it “retirement” since worked there 17 years – first as a weekend announcer then full-time since 2016. I plan to continue covering the environment and climate change and other issues as an independent reporter. Stay tuned for updates. I’ll also be doing photography, traveling and who knows what else. It’s been a great run – thanks to all who’ve helped me along the way. WFAE announced that Zachary Turner has been hired as the climate reporter in my place.
Reasons for hope about climate change
In my farewell newsletter and column for WFAE, I wrote that I’m still deeply concerned about climate change, and the outlook is hardly rosy. But the winds of change are strengthening and there are reasons for optimism. See “Reasons for hope about climate change” at WFAE.org.
Congratulations, David!
It sounds like your retirement will be well spent and I am looking forward to following you.
I have enjoyed reading your WFAE posts.
Hope that you get to Taiwan at least one more time!
All the best to you,
Betsy Hazelton
