Davidson College says a $1 million donation from alum Ed Van Deman, CEO of Financial Navigator Inc., and his wife Dr. Nancie Fimbel, will pay for initial renovations on the old Bridgeport Fabrics mill on Delburg Street, near campus.

The building will become The Hub@Davidson, an entrepreneurship center. It will have classrooms, research and creation spaces for the college and partner companies and organizations, the college said. Workers gutted the 1920s building this summer.
