Election filing is over. Davidson Mayor John Woods faces challenges from former commissioner Laurie Venzon and local musician/real estate agent Rusty Knox. Meanwhile, interesting developments in the town board election: Commissioners Beth Cashion and Brian Jenest aren’t running again.
Their departure will leave two vacancies for newcomers. Commissioners Stacy Anderson, Rodney Graham and Jim Fuller are in again.
Challengers are Michael Angell, George Berger, Jane Campbell, Shana Erber, Ryan Fay, Matthew Fort, Autumn Michael, David Sitton, Troy Taylor and Sammy Weaver.
The election is Nov. 7. Early and absentee voting begins in early October.
