Write and produce a play in just 24 hours? The women of Chickspeare can! I’ll be joining fellow actors from around Charlotte this weekend in this very cool event.
It’s all in honor of The Bard’s birthday. A half-dozen women playwrights will start writing Friday night, and we actors will rehearse starting Saturday morning.

What’s Chickspeare? It’s an all-woman Shakespeare-inspired theater company in Charlotte, founded in 1998. The first performances were at the old Johnson Beer Co. on Central Ave. Those were some real happenings, and it’s fitting that the chicks are returning to a brewery space for this latest show.
Expect merriment, mayhem, gender-bending and a bit of politics in this weekend’s show.
